Rescue Operations Underway in Mana Pass

An avalanche in Uttarakhand has led to the tragic loss of four construction workers near the Mana Pass, close to the Tibet border. The workers were engaged in a highway project when the disaster struck.

Out of 55 trapped individuals, rescue teams managed to save 50. However, four workers lost their lives, and efforts continue to locate the remaining five. The rescue operations are facing challenges due to heavy snowfall and poor visibility.

Uttarakhand is known for frequent natural disasters. In the past, a similar avalanche took the lives of 27 trainee mountaineers, and a glacier burst in 2021 triggered a massive flood.

Apple Expands Manufacturing in India

iPhone Exports Surge as Apple Strengthens Local Production

Apple is expanding its manufacturing operations in India, contributing to a significant rise in smartphone exports. In the first ten months of the fiscal year, mobile phone exports increased by nearly 50%, with Apple playing a key role.

Apple’s manufacturing partners, including Foxconn and Tata Electronics, are now producing high-end models like the iPhone 16 Pro in India. This expansion aligns with the "Make in India" initiative, making mobile phones the country’s top export sector, surpassing traditional industries.

Apple’s decision to scale up operations in India is influenced by geopolitical factors and the need to diversify production beyond China. The local production strategy also helps Apple reduce costs by avoiding high import duties.
